Gambia 2022

Dieses Jahr im Februar war es endlich wieder soweit: Es ging nach Gambia !

Nach mehreren corona-bedingten Flugausfällen im Jahr 2020 und 2021 war diese Reise besonders schön , intensiv und wichtig für mich. . und ehrlich gesagt habe ich es erst richtig begreifen können auf dem Weg nach Gambia zu sein, als das Flugzeug über den Wolken auf dem Weg "to the Mamaland" war.

..beim Landeanflug kamen mir wie jedes Mal die Tränen.

Ich habe mich so lange gesehnt nach dem Duft von Afrika, den Blick auf die Palmen und das Meer, die Wärme der Sonne auf meiner Haut zu spüren.. die Mentalität der Smiling Coast Of Africa wieder zu erLEBEN , das Gefühl von sich willkommen fühlen und Gemeinschaft...ein Miteinander auf Augenhöhe, Small Talks an jeder Ecke über Gott und die Welt...Reggaemusic an jeder Ecke, den leckeren, frischen Baobab-Banane-Mango Säften am Strand und natürlich meine Familie wieder in die Arme zu schließen. Während ich das hier schreibe, bekomme ich wieder "Heimweh" ..

Auf dem Serekunda Market gab es wieder einige tolle Schätze die wir mitgebracht haben und unser Schneider Yankuba (s.Foto) hat einzigartige Kleidung für euch kreiert.

Nicht nur, dass die "Made in Africa" - Kollektion von der Qualität und dem Schnitt grandios geworden sind - es ist umso schöner diese an euch zu verkaufen weil so ein liebenswerter, humorvoller und talentierter Schneider dahinter steckt mit einem großem Herzen - und somit die Kleidung der "MADE IN AFRICA"-Kollektion diese positive Energie in sich trägt. 

Deswegen ist mir der Blogartikel wichtig - denn jeder soll sehen, wer die Kleidung genäht hat - wer hinter der "MADE IN AFRICA KOLLEKTION" steckt. Ebenso könnt ihr in der kleinen Bildergalerie sehen, wo und von wem wir unsere Stoffe gekauft haben.

Als Small Black Business sehen wir uns in der Verantwortung, dass das Geld von der Quelle bis hin zur Produktion "Black" bleibt. Also quasi vom Stoffhändler bis hin zum Schneider.

This year in February it was finally time again: We went to The Gambia!

After several corona-related flight cancellations in 2020 and 2021, this trip was particularly beautiful, intense and important for me. . . .and I only realized that being on my way to The Gambia, when the plane was above the clouds  to the Mamaland.

..on the landing approach, tears came to my eyes, as always when arriving "back home".

I was longing for the scent of Africa, the view of the palm trees and the sea, to feel the warmth of the sun on my skin.. to EXPERIENCE the mentality of the Smiling Coast Of Africa again, to feel welcomed, loved and community...a togetherness at eye level, small talks on every corner...reggae music on every corner, the delicious, fresh baobab-banana-mango juices on the beach and of course hugging my family again. As I write this, I'm getting "homesick" again..

At the Serekunda Market there were some great treasures that we brought back and our tailor Yankuba (s. photo) created unique clothes for you.

Not only that the "Made in Africa" collection has become terrific in terms of quality and cut - it is even nicer to sell it to you because there is such a lovable, humorous and talented tailor behind it with a big heart - and therefore the clothing from the "MADE IN AFRICA" collection carries this positive energy.

As a Small Black Business, we see it as our responsibility to keep the money "Black" from the source to production. So basically from the fabric dealer to the tailor.
